Landscapes are what I draw when I want to relax. Nature is diverse, colorful and forgiving. Luckily for me, others enjoy my landscapes which affords me opportunities to create custom landscapes for clients.
Twitch Banners and Backgrounds
I was commissioned by a designer and a Twitch streamer to create backgrounds that represented the streamer’s personal interests and esthetic.

Mood board
I created a mood board to capture all the references the clients provided, as well as landscape illustrations that inspired me. This included the winter landscape I illustrated that caught their eye, photos of their favorite landscapes, the color palette the designer is using for the rest of the site design.
Thumbnails
I created quick thumbnails to experiment with different compositions. The clients shared that they would like to have their streaming window on the right side of the screen, so my illustrations greatly favored empty space on the left side.
From the 20 sketches, I chose my favorite nine and created rough sketches to plan out the landscape. I showed these to the designer to help me narrow down the selection for our Twitch streamer.
We narrowed the choices down to our three favorite. These three concepts were presented to the Twitch streamer to choose from.
Lineart
The section option was chosen because it featured similar mountains to his favorite hiking locations.
Using the provided color palette I laid out flats in different planes.
The next step was to add basic shading.
Twitch Overlay and Profile Banner
Lighting, detail, linear recoloring and atmosphere were added to create the final daytime illustration. This rendition was used for the Twitch overlay and Profile banner.
Twitch Offline Banner
As night time image was created for the Twitch online banner. It featured a night sky, a moon to sit aside the chat overlay placement, fire flies, and glowing mushrooms.
